Making the green machine meaner and safer
Over the past season, The Real Thing Racing Team, has experienced speeds in excess of 150 MPH (240 kph) on the water at venues around Australia. With such speed, driver safety is paramount , as well as the safety of our fellow competitors.
During the off season break, the team have been busy designing and developing a safety capsule for the race craft, in conjunction with Rob Psaila of Duggan Balancing fame.
The capsule, being centre mounted, will be an obvious benefit for the driver , and the team believe that there will be an aerodynamic and balancing advantage to be gained.
The creation and fitment of the capsule is well under way, the team also has plans to also incorporate a rear aerofoil (wing)to the Real Thing, a move that will improve performance and handling even further.
