The Real Thing Capsule Taking Shape

During the off season, Bruce and the team have been busy, improving driver safety for "The Real Thing".

Working closely in conjunction with Rob Psaila of Duggan Balancing Fame, work has started , transforming the open deck boat into a Capsule configuration.

Bruce was extremely happy on the progress so far,"We have all done some hard yards over the past few months, the cell looks great, a few minor adjustments and we will soon have the cell Permanently mounted , ready for action."

The new look "Real Thing" will be hitting the water again soon, competing at all the major meetings in Australia.

* Centre mounted Kevlar composite, reinforced safety capsule, rated to 5000 newtons of impact force

* 16mm polycarbonate windscreen similar to those used in aircraft.

* Emergency oxygen activated by mercury switch, with on demand override by driver

* 2 way dedicated communication to crew

* 5 point safety harness with centre lever over locking mechanism
